I need help choosing a light foundation that covers large pores without caking or inflaming!?
Over the years I have tried a huge number of foundations in every price range and still can’t find anything that does the job. Maybe it’s because I have every skin problem possible:
* Large open pores.
* Very, VERY fair coloring. It’s almost impossible to find a foundation that doesn’t look odd against my pale, nearly translucent skin. Most foundations either look orange (if I opt for something slightly darker) or grayish (if I choose the lightest shade a brand carries).
* Flaky, painfully dry skin, especially on my forehead and during winter. Moisturizer eases the discomfort but not the flakes.
* Occasional blemishes. Though I only get them once every few months, they are deep/painful, and everything shows up on pale skin. 
I want a foundation that minimizes the look of my pores but doesn’t feel like a chalky, caky mask or cause breakouts. I’d love to try Mineral Makeup but am afraid of absorbing nanoparticulates through my pores (toxic!). HELP!
The most important thing for you to do is treat your skin for the large pores. You are obviously suffering from clogged pores, that is why they are open. You may need a professional exfoliation. If you can’t afford to get facials or microdermabrasion then try the following:
Extra Virgin Olive oil mask and steam facial at home. Message the olive oil into the skin and steam your face over a pot of water. Swipe with a cotton ball to remove flaky skin.
Fruit Enzyme Cleanser called MyChelle at health food store.
For moisture, make your own essential oil mixture. The right kinds of oils won’t make you break out and will retain moisture. Research on the internet what you can mix with grapeseed oil as a base. Maybe jojoba mixed with Aloe pulp. Just buy the oils yourself and mix them each time in the palm of your hand. This way you are not putting anything toxic in your sensative skin and it is a lot cheaper too. leave on for awhile and sweep away excess that has not absorbed.
